… Carola Gosch could see on site in Pokhara. For several years Opportunity Village Nepal has been training young women from vulnerable situations. The goal is to find a job themselves or even to start their own business. Together the results and the challenges were discussed and afterwards some stores were visited. The young women learned a lot and are grateful for the self-employment they achieved.

… in the children’s home of @Oportunity village Nepal were very happy about the visit of Carola Gosch. It is nice to see how the little girls become young women. They now have confidence in themselves and could communicate with the visitors in English. Many questions were asked and the girls proudly showed their garden. The greenhouse and thus the supply of vegetables was a great advantage especially in lockdown times. Of course, gifts were also distributed to all. Thereupon, at the end of the visit Carola Gosch awaited a real surprise – pancakes with jam ?

… the scholarship holders from the villages are on their own in Salleri, the district capital- But they enjoy the life where they only have to take care of themselves and the college. And are proud as one of the first to have reached this step of education. Of course our partners Racedi and Kusang continue to look after them intensively. … provided now also for the children in Kunikhop. What a joy. There is no heating in the houses and in the school and the winter is very cold. For us Europeans hardly imaginable. That is why Roots for Life has been distributing the popular fleece jackets for years, which keep warm and fit under a jacket. These cozy jackets are not even taken off to sleep.

.. the girls in Merangding got the new backpacks already 2021 for the opening of the schools after a lockdown. With the long ways to school and the different weather conditions, it is important for the girls to be able to stow their books safely.

… are needed . When distributing Christmas wishes to our girls, this time it was underwear, they actually came in Flip flops without socks in sub-zero temperatures. Socks are luxury items and are only used for school shoes. Little things that we don’t think about anymore make a big difference in Nepal.

… are important to complete the preparations for school also in the Kid’s Club Chyangsar. Especially the school uniforms have to be completed once again and so the local tailor comes to measure in the village and our partner Kusang Tamang hopefully writes the data correctly on the list. With the establishment of the cooperative in Kunikhop came the desire of the women to support their girls in attending school. Education as a prerequisite for a self-determined life for their daughters is a real need for the women in Kunikhop. The program for the girls in Kunikhop will start in 2021.
.. for the girls from Chyangsar and Ghunsa who want to go to college after successfully completing their compulsory education. Kusang Tamang has looked for a suitable room for them on site and has furnished it so far. They will cook, study and sleep there. We wish them all the best.
