… the scholarship holders from the villages are on their own in Salleri, the district capital- But they enjoy the life where they only have to take care of themselves and the college. And are proud as one of the first to have reached this step of education. Of course our partners Racedi and Kusang continue to look after them intensively. … the steps from the pre-grown plants to the harvest are trained together with the experts. Soon the model farm in Chyangsar will be certified, so that the vegetables can be sold on the market as organic vegetables. In addition to maintaining soil health, these products can also generate a higher yield.

… we discuss with the scholarship holders which school uniforms are needed. In Ghunsa and Chyangsar it happened again. We hope that everything was measured correctly and that the school dresses now fit well. The girls were very happy about it.

… after more than 2 years Carola Gosch is back in Nepal. With window openers for the glass houses, seeds and self-knitted socks she is back to work on site. But besides the work there is also a party to celebrate – Happy Holi
… is a big issue in all villages, sometimes too much, sometimes too little. in Chyangsar the reservoir is already empty again. In heavy rain slips again and again a piece of the field. Slowly the women develop a feeling for it and small ditches are made where water can run off well or flow into the prepared basin. Watering is still mainly done by hand but there are plans to lay hoses where it is absolutely necessary.
The ongoing development of the model farm is only possible with the support of Fair Styria.
… in the fields of the model farm in Chyangsar, which will give our next harvest the strength and energy it needs. Also these activities are done together with our permaculture expert and our women can still learn a lot by the support. And the good yield shows them that the work is absolutely worth it. Additionally, this knowledge will also be important for our certification, so “compost be thankful”.

… is still woven in the villages according to centuries-old patterns. For the Nepalese, this is a fabric used for traditional costumes. But our women like to be creative and incorporate modern designs into these colorful fabrics every now and then.
The fabrics are woven in the villages themselves and our women have made sample pieces that they are very eager to sell in Austria for the benefit of the cooperative.
We are all very excited to see if and how it will be accepted and look forward getting feedback on the first prototypes.

… are needed . When distributing Christmas wishes to our girls, this time it was underwear, they actually came in Flip flops without socks in sub-zero temperatures. Socks are luxury items and are only used for school shoes. Little things that we don’t think about anymore make a big difference in Nepal.
