  • Great …

    Great …

.. what the women in Kunikhop have achieved in less than 2 years. The founding of a cooperative was followed by a long search for a suitable area and its purchase. With a lot of effort, the area was prepared, a greenhouse and a training hall were built, and sample fields with new vegetables were planted.

The women can be very proud of themselves.

Many thanks to Schoeck Family Foundation for the financial support of this project.

  • Great …

    Great …

… the initiative to support species-appropriate stables and loans for the purchase of animals has developed further. In self-administration of the cooperative, small loans are granted and paid back by the women so that the next ones can receive support.

These activities no longer need to be supported externally. Many thanks to all who have made the development possible.

.. all participants in the programme received the same material, the use was different.
.. the credit was used to buy the animals.
.. some of the stables are very simple
.. some women are still waiting for the loan to buy the animals.

.. some have used existing stone walls

  • Sustainable …

    Sustainable …

… means for us to make the women as independent as possible in the future. Thus, the training on seed production in Chyangsar is also an essential part. All findings are also accurately recorded in order to learn from them. More and more new vegetables can be grown and distributed.

We are proud of the women who are always ready to learn new things.

Many thanks to Fair Styria for setting up the model farm and to Schoeck Family Foundation for the ongoing support of the trainings.

.. again and again the women are provided with information.
    .. all details are recorded
… the important thing is the practical application

.. Plants for seed production must not be harvested

  • Great …

    Great …

… every space on the model farm in Ghunsa is used. In the future, grain and dried vegetables can be milled and packaged in the new small extension building. This is another small step towards marketing.

We are already looking forward to the first products that can be professionally produced here.

Many thanks to all the sponsors who have believed in our projects so far.

.. the new attic was lovingly integrated
.. it was built around the toilet
.. local materials and local carpenters
    .. the joy is great
.. also the roof is completely new made

.. the new attic is finished

  • Great …

    Great …

… the women in Kunikhop have implemented the first trainings on organic vegetable cultivation. For the first time, they were able to harvest enough vegetables for the whole family and more in their greenhouses. Not least the organic herbal fertiliser helped them to achieve this.

Many thanks to the Schoeck Family Foundation, without whose support none of this would be possible.

.. the women are proud of their private greenhouses
.. some of them with brand new vegetables
.. healthy food for the whole family
    .. fertilised with organic broths
    .. the harvest is impressive

  • Kiwi’s …

    Kiwi’s …

… could be harvested in larger quantities for the first time in Chyangsar on the model farm. 10 kg of them were distributed to the children – they were thrilled. For many it was the first kiwi of their lives. We will grow more seedlings and distribute them to the women as well.

Many thanks to all who supported us in setting up the farm. Especially to FAIR STYRIA.

.. Vitamins for the winter – the first distribution of kiwis from the model farm in Chyangsar.
.. for the first time almost 100 kg could be harvested
.. the women are rightly proud of the kiwi harvest

.. die Verteilung war fast feierlich

  • Learned quickly …

    Learned quickly …

… the women in Merangding have learned quickly. Already in the first “project winter” they use the greenhouses not only for winter vegetables but also for drying maize. They can really be proud of themselves.

Many thanks to Fair Styria, only through the continuous support of these initiatives are such quick successes possible.

Winter vegetables and straw as frost protection in Merangding
.. harvesting is also possible in winter in the greenhouse
.. the maize is also neatly dried here
.. the plants were grown on the model farm.

.. the women are happy about the splendid green in winter

  • A tree nursery …

    A tree nursery …

… is being built above the model farm in Ghunsa. The cooperative has bought another piece of land here, where there is a large greenhouse and outdoor space. Here, local rootstocks are grown from seeds, which can then also be grafted and sold.

We are already very curious to see whether a sustainable contribution to income generation and food diversity will succeed here as well.

Many thanks to Chay Ya for supporting the launch of this initiative.

.. above the model farm is the land with the tree nursery
.. the first nut trees are already in the greenhouse, ready for planting outdoors
.. Here the trees will be grown together with other crops and then sold.

.. around the greenhouse is the land for the trees

  • Fun …

    Fun …

… the women in Merangding also enjoy the PGS training. With the new great material from HASERA, connections in organic farming can be explained well. Concrete tasks are discussed in small groups and solutions are found under the supervision of the experts. First, as always, there is a training certificate that everyone is proud of, and then it’s off to the implementation in one’s own garden.

Many thanks to Fair Styria for financially supporting this project.

… tasks are solved and presented together
.. the work in the group is fun for the women
.. they can work through the contents in their own workbooks
.. of course there is a certificate for each training session.

.. the trainers are also proud of their work

  • Let there be light …

    Let there be light …

    … in Chyangsar and Ghunsa

Until now, there were only small local hydropower plants here and a photovoltaic system in Chyangsar. Now the national electricity connection is in place, which will also be able to power appliances in the future. In Chyangsar the light is already on, in Ghunsa the installations are completed and the electricity should come in the next few weeks.

We are happy for the women who will now have many more opportunities to work with simple machines.

.. lots of material had to be brought to the villages.
.. new switch boxes, billing by units – brand new for everyone ?
.. so that the training halls can be well supplied

.. in Chyangsar even with a switch between photovoltaics and the grid
