… is a reason for everyone to celebrate. The girls at the hostel have also completed their exams for year 11 and 12. The results for year 11 are already in and all the girls have passed.
… is a major concern for the women who carried out intensive training on the management of cooperatives in Kathmandu.
Some specialised topics were passed on to a larger group in a training course in Chyangsar. Representatives of the authorities were also invited and were very interested. Some of them also took part and will make use of our ‘experts’ if necessary.
.. Representatives from all four villages took part in the extended training.. the authority was invited to participate to work on the topic of co-operatives.. Members from the boards of the co-operative inform other women.. the women are already presenting the content as a matter of course.. some special topics are supervised by external trainers or commented on by government representatives
.. Vegetables were eaten by the girls at the hostel last year. They are getting better and better at cultivating their own garden and also enjoy processing their own vegetables.
Many thanks to the Schöck Family Foundation, whose support makes it possible for the girls to run the hostel and attend school.
.. Harvest day in the hostel garden.. Compost is prepared for the fields.. the girls are responsible for their own beds in teams of two.. they prepare their own vegetables together in the kitchen.. the vegetables are accompanied by local dough rings
… some women sewed the school dresses for the girls from 3 villages. After last year’s training, this was the first time the seamstresses had worked independently.
This means that the added value remains in the village and the women are happy about their remuneration. A suitable school uniform is very important for the girls to be able to go to school.
Many thanks to the sponsors whose support enables the girls to go to school well equipped again.
.. the girls from Merangding are happy about the new school uniforms.. all the children in Chyangsar were also measured for the school dresses.. after measuring, the cut is adjusted.. the women in Chyangsar worked hard together to sew… sewing also took place in Merangding
… the women sell their vegetables through the cooperative to so-called ‘vegetable brokers’. This generates income for the women and for the cooperative.
This sale is still supported at the beginning, especially in order to negotiate everything with the brokers and stabilise the structures.
.. the first transporter is successfully loaded.. a lot of administrative work also needs to be prepared.. the people responsible in all the villages were given a mobile phone for marketing purposes.. the vegetables are collected on the farm.. everything is weighed and packed into sacks
… is very important for higher production, which can then be sold, especially in the dry periods. Many particularly hard-working women in the four villages have received one, have been trained and can now get started.
.. the women in Ghunsa are happy about the new irrigation system.. our agricultural expert explains the function in Merangding.. the function is also explained in detail in Chyangsar.. the women in Kunikhop have also been waiting for it for a long time.. the irrigation is laid out in the gardens.. it grows particularly well along the irrigation system
.. the girls in Pokhara are looked after. Both in the children’s home and in the mentoring programme, the girls receive health care, are supported in their school attendance and the older ones receive vocational training to earn an income for themselves.
Many thanks to the sponsors who make this support possible.
.. the girls take part in therapeutic measures.. all girls take part in events against human trafficking.. the girls are supported in their studies.. the older girls receive counselling on vocational training.. some learn to make simple jewellery.. Kenntnisse am Computer sind besonders wichtig
.. one of the girls has completed a confectionery apprenticeship
… of the cooperative, the members of the boards received further intensive training in accounting and management. All four villages sent their managers to Kathmandu. Based on their own documents, they were able to work on how to prepare the books, especially for the audit.
For the women, this is very unfamiliar work, which they have already been practising over the past few years with support. By the end of the year, they should be able to do this all by themselves.
We wish them the best of luck.
Many thanks to the Schöck Family Foundation for supporting the sustainable empowerment of women.
.. the women’s training took place in Kathmandu.. Documents were prepared and presented.. eating together strengthens the community.. the current documents from all villages served as a basis.. the interaction between the local and joint co-operatives is not so easy to understand
.. of course there were certificates again at the end
… are people in Nepal who have a sound education in the field of social work. We are therefore particularly pleased that Asmita from Merangding has decided to study this at a college in Kathmandu. She would like to work in an NGO later on to improve the situation of people in Nepal.
She is very concerned about the financial burden on her parents, who also have to make their contribution in addition to the great sponsors.
Many thanks to the sponsors who make this study programme possible and also to the parents who – as with all scholarship holders – make their financial and emotional contribution.
.. in front of her college.. the laptop is new and important to her.. she lives with her brother and probably cooks with him ?.. during lessons.. selfies with friends are a must
.. during the holidays she helps to process the harvest
