    For the independence …

     

    … of the cooperative, the members of the boards received further intensive training in accounting and management. All four villages sent their managers to Kathmandu. Based on their own documents, they were able to work on how to prepare the books, especially for the audit.

    For the women, this is very unfamiliar work, which they have already been practising over the past few years with support. By the end of the year, they should be able to do this all by themselves.

    We wish them the best of luck.

    The girls in Kathmandu…

    … work on their reports together and exchange information about their studies. Racedi regularly supports the girls not only in technical matters, but also discusses personal issues in a cosy atmosphere.

  • A huge success …

    A huge success …

    … was the food festival in Kathmandu. The women from the cooperative in Solukhumbu were very unsure whether people would even be interested in their food. But the first day was already well attended with around 80 guests, and by the end of the day all the prepared dishes had been eaten. The enthusiasm was so great and was also shared on social media that over 100 guests were served the next day.

    The women and the team were over the moon. They now have confidence in the quality of their work and are already planning the next events.

    The preparation …

    … for the first food festival in Kathmandu was great fun for everyone and the cooperation between the women from all the villages worked well. The aim was to publicise traditional dishes with local products from Solukhumbu in Kathmandu.

    Representatives from organisations that want to promote organic farming or have access to the relevant market segment were also invited.

    For the first time …

    … all 4 presidents of the Kids Clubs in the villages gave a speech in English at the food festival in Chyangsar. Well prepared and proudly delivered, it was a highlight of the festival. In addition to the speeches, the girls also danced. Everyone was very proud of their girls.

    The girls who are studying in Kathmandu also came to the festival.

    The future …

    … of the cooperative is already being taken over independently by the leadership team from all 4 villages. For the third time, the team accompanied the strategy days together with Carola Gosch. Achievements are proudly presented, experiences are exchanged and possibilities for the future are discussed.

    We are very proud of the good co-operation between the women and are sure that the cooperative will continue to work well in the future.

    For 7 years …

    … the women from the co-operative have been coming together to present their products. A variety of vegetables, seeds and traditional dishes are presented and awarded prizes. This event, which is always attended by government representatives, increases the appreciation of organic farming.

  • In the second year …

    In the second year …

     … our scholarship holder is already working on very specific tasks. On the computer, in the laboratory, in the workshop but also in the field, she is learning everything she needs to become a good civil engineer in the future. She is of course particularly pleased about the prize for her project.

    Food …

    … and cooking together are an essential part of all celebrations. It starts the day before, everyone brings something, we cut, cook, laugh and gossip together.

    This exchange is important in order to master difficult situations together.

    News from the hostel …

    … could be exchanged during the visit on site. In the meantime, all of the girls’ beds are already producing good yields, radiators have been purchased for the winter and experiences and challenges have been openly discussed.

    The official sign has also been installed.
