• For 7 years …

… the women from the co-operative have been coming together to present their products. A variety of vegetables, seeds and traditional dishes are presented and awarded prizes. This event, which is always attended by government representatives, increases the appreciation of organic farming. Many thanks to the Schöck Family Foundation for supporting the farms.

  • News from the hostel …

… could be exchanged during the visit on site. In the meantime, all of the girls’ beds are already producing good yields, radiators have been purchased for the winter and experiences and challenges have been openly discussed. The official sign has also been installed. Many thanks to the Schöck Family Foundation for giving the girls this opportunity.

  • Material for the farmers …

… for the best of the village. The women were duly honoured at the meeting of the cooperative. They shared their experiences with the others. We are sure that the women will continue to work well in the future, even without external support. Many thanks to the Schöck Family Foundation for its long-term support of this project.

  • A warm welcome …

… in Merangding. The women not only distributed the traditional flower wreaths, they also cooked in advance and prepared everything perfectly. We really enjoyed exchanging ideas in this pleasant atmosphere. It’s great to see how the women stick together and put what they have learnt into practice. This fantastic work is only possible thanks to the support of the Schöck Family Foundation, for which we are very grateful.

  • Biotest …

… of a special kind we learnt in Kunikhop. With organically grown maize, the inside of the dried stalks tastes sweet. It wasn’t just us who enjoyed the snack, the goats and cows enjoyed it too. It’s great to see how independently the women are already running their farms and how the family menu always includes vegetables. Many thanks to Schoeck Family Foundation for supporting the model farms in Solukhumbu.

  • The party is …

… at the hostel, as there are several birthdays at the same time. The girls prepare everything together and then enjoy the party together. The community is very important for the girls. Together with their carer, they learn routines in areas such as exercise, meditation, study times and house and garden work. Many thanks to the Schöck Family Foundation for supporting the hostel.

  • Studying in the hostel …

… is much more comfortable with the new insulation mat on the floor. They are also working more and more with computers, a skill they will need later on. Physical exercises and short excursions are organised during the breaks. It is important that the girls are healthy in every respect. Many thanks to Schoeck Family Foundation for supporting the hostel.

  • Rare view …

… of some farms from above. The houses in the individual villages are very different. This is mainly due to the location. Where there are roads, the houses can be built more elaborately. But even the large houses are unheated and often have open fires. What everyone now has are greenhouses, which they can use to grow different types of vegetables. Many thanks to the Schöck Family Foundation for supporting the project.
