• Truss celebration..

… is also held in Nepal as soon as the roof truss is finished. Piece by piece the wood and stones were carried to the building site in Merangding and the training hall was built. Due to the strong price increases it took longer and a lot of voluntary work had to be done. We are proud of the women’s initiative and look forward to great training sessions in the hall. Of course, the completion had to be celebrated. Many thanks to Fair Styria for the great support of this project.

  • For the first time …

… Carola Gosch initiated a strategy day with all leading women of the cooperative and the entire team. Questions such as “what were our successes in 2022” and “what are our plans for 2023 and what do we need to achieve them” were discussed very intensively and then presented. Experiences were exchanged, insights gained, but also a lot of laughter and energy built up for the next steps. We would like to thank all the supporters of the projects whose success we were able to celebrate here. Especially Fair Styria and Schöck-Familien-Stiftung make this sustainable development possible.

  • A new board of directors …

…for the Sagarmatha Milijuli Mahila Cooperative. For the first time, all 4 villages are represented and can decide together on the projects. Over 200 women came, the atmosphere was great. There were not only presentations and discussions but also eating, gossiping and dancing. We would like to thank all the supporters who believed in and supported the development of the cooperative. Especially Fair Styria and Schoeck-Familien-Stiftung have financed trainings of the cooperative again and again.

  • Kiwi’s …

… could be harvested in larger quantities for the first time in Chyangsar on the model farm. 10 kg of them were distributed to the children – they were thrilled. For many it was the first kiwi of their lives. We will grow more seedlings and distribute them to the women as well. Many thanks to all who supported us in setting up the farm. Especially to FAIR STYRIA.

  • Learned quickly …

… the women in Merangding have learned quickly. Already in the first “project winter” they use the greenhouses not only for winter vegetables but also for drying maize. They can really be proud of themselves. Many thanks to Fair Styria, only through the continuous support of these initiatives are such quick successes possible.

  • Fun …

… the women in Merangding also enjoy the PGS training. With the new great material from HASERA, connections in organic farming can be explained well. Concrete tasks are discussed in small groups and solutions are found under the supervision of the experts. First, as always, there is a training certificate that everyone is proud of, and then it’s off to the implementation in one’s own garden. Many thanks to Fair Styria for financially supporting this project.

  • In a flash …

the women in Merangding have transformed the model farm into a green oasis. The greenhouse was officially opened in March and the first plants were still small. In the meantime, the first harvest can already be harvested and home-grown plants can be sold. We are proud of this progress that the women of the local cooperative have achieved together. Many thanks to Fair Styria for making this project possible.

  • Enthusiastic …

… are the women in Merangding about the greenhouse on the model farm. Here, plants are already pre-bred and can then be released in the private farms. At the opening there were again seeds from Austria and other useful little things for the women. Many thanks to Fair Styria, who support this project financially.

  • Potatoes on the road …

.. 400 km, some days on the back of donkeys these organically grown seed potatoes were brought to Samagaun Gorkha, in the west of Nepal. Here the climate is similar to Solukhumbu and there is also a lot of enthusiasm for organically grown produce. It is especially great when women in Solu now send their seed potatoes to women in Gorkha to support organic farming there. We wish good thriving and are happy. Many thanks to the Sagarmatha Milijuli Mahila Cooperative for the good work and Fair Styria as well as Land Vorarlberg for supporting the projects in Chyangsar and Ghunsa. Special thanks also to the cooperation partners in Gorkha…

  • The work on the model farm…

… in Chyangsar is becoming more and more professional. Accurate accounting of the different varieties as well as their yields, own seeds and labeling until the harvest, bring joy to learning. Thus, local chilies are compared with those brought by Carola Gosch – we are curious to see who will win the race. It is important to know that chili is one of the staple foods in Nepal and is used for almost every dish. Many thanks to Fair Styria for the great support, which is essential for the operation of the farm.
