    Important …

    … were the experiences the girls had while helping at the food festival in Kathmandu. Understanding the activities on the farms and appreciating their traditional cuisine are also important for them. They were responsible for registering, selling the vouchers and serving the food.

    They invited their friends, teachers and acquaintances. They were also proud of their culture.

  • For the first time …

    For the first time …

    … all 4 presidents of the Kids Clubs in the villages gave a speech in English at the food festival in Chyangsar. Well prepared and proudly delivered, it was a highlight of the festival. In addition to the speeches, the girls also danced. Everyone was very proud of their girls.

    The girls who are studying in Kathmandu also came to the festival.

    Roots for Life …

    … and Carola Gosch and are still closely associated with Raksha Nepal. As always, the girls were delighted to receive a visit from their Granny. Of course, the warm jackets and headbands were also a reason for joy.

    Our scholarship holder Asha ..

    .. from Merangding is studying computer science, which gives her many job opportunities in Nepal. Adjusting to life in the city was not easy for her, but she now feels very comfortable at university and in her room.

    We wish her all the best and are particularly pleased to have found a sponsor for her.

    In the second year …

     … our scholarship holder is already working on very specific tasks. On the computer, in the laboratory, in the workshop but also in the field, she is learning everything she needs to become a good civil engineer in the future. She is of course particularly pleased about the prize for her project.

  • Hair bands..

    Hair bands..

    … were exchanged in Kathmandu for warm jackets with the Oportunity Village (OVN). Synergies and added value are important to us, so the girls in Pokhara were able to earn money by sewing the hair bands, which are now being distributed to the women in the villages. 30 warm jackets were handed over for the girls in Pokhara.

    We are delighted about the synergy between the projects and would like to thank the sponsors for their many years of support.

    .. girls from the villages are attending university in Kathmandu this year. The last two have signed the agreement with Roots for Life. The parents are also helping financially. We as well as the parents, families and friends – indeed the whole villages – are very proud of the girls who can now pursue their dream.
