…were the warm jackets, which were able to be handed out as early as autumn. Life without heating can get quite chilly in Nepal during the winter, so the jackets come in very handy ?.
Many thanks to all the sponsors who make this support possible.

…the girls at the OVN Children’s Home are fighting to continue their education after compulsory schooling. In the autumn, the possibilities and requirements were discussed; this year, a pilot project will be launched. Workshops with the girls will aim to highlight options that match their interests and abilities.
Many thanks to the Schöck Family Foundation; their trust and financial support are making it possible to explore new avenues.

..is something the girls at OVN learn from a very early age. They also carry themselves with confidence in public and stand up for their rights.
We are proud of them and hope to actively shape their future in 2026 with the new workshops.
Many thanks to the Schöck Family Foundation for supporting the training initiative!

… the ban on 26 social media platforms has awakened a generation. Thousands of young people protested against corruption, inequality and an old elite, some of whose representatives have been in power for over 10 years. Every day, around 2,000 young Nepalese leave the country because they have no prospects. But many want to stay, raise their voices and change the country.
There is now a transitional government that is supposed to organise new elections.
We wish them all the best and hope that our projects can also contribute to this.
Many thanks to all our supporters who have made this work possible for over 10 years.

.. the girls in Pokhara are looked after. Both in the children’s home and in the mentoring programme, the girls receive health care, are supported in their school attendance and the older ones receive vocational training to earn an income for themselves.
Many thanks to the sponsors who make this support possible.

… were exchanged in Kathmandu for warm jackets with the Oportunity Village (OVN). Synergies and added value are important to us, so the girls in Pokhara were able to earn money by sewing the hair bands, which are now being distributed to the women in the villages. 30 warm jackets were handed over for the girls in Pokhara.
We are delighted about the synergy between the projects and would like to thank the sponsors for their many years of support.

… is also important for our girls in Pokhara. They now look after the garden and the greenhouse very independently. They are happy about the harvest and everything is used in the kitchen.
They are also doing very well at school, which they can celebrate with a video evening.
Many thanks to our sponsors who make it possible to support these girls.

… is something very special for the girls, especially before the big autumn holidays. There are currently over 20 girls in the final classes for the higher school-leaving certificate. This programme, which started 3 years ago, is a great success in the villages. Most of them attend the school in Sallerie and live in the hostel, but some also live in Kathmandu and Pokhara. We maintain close contact with all of them and also celebrate and shop for the festivals.
We would like to thank our sponsors for their loyal support and are always happy to hear from new ones at office@rootsforlife.info.

It’s nice that some of them already speak English very well.

… are once again in Pokhara this year. The girls are going through a mentoring programme, learning professions (e.g. dressmaker, beautician, …). Some of them get a job, others want to start their own business and are supported by our partner Opportunity Village Nepal.
We also visit the girls who started a few years ago every year. They are particularly pleased when they can try out what they have learnt with Carola Gosch ?.
It’s great to see that this project is making such a lasting difference to the lives of young women.

… now also the projects in Solukhumbu and Pokhara. Some girls from the OVN project are learning tailoring. They produce hair bands from leftover fabric. We bought these from them and distributed them to the women and girls in the villages. It was a lot of fun and good business for the seamstresses ?
