    …of mixed vegetable cultivation and insect management is passed down from one cohort of girls to the next. The girls are certainly proud of their results this spring as well.

    .. of girls at the hostel completes the computer course so that they can use computers in Years 11 and 12.

    The girls are proud, and these skills will certainly help them in life.

    … agriculture can only be sustainable, if it uses its own seeds. We are delighted that the women are actively processing their own organic seeds and exchanging them amongst themselves.

    Special varieties are also preserved on the model farms.

    .. and with confidence, the women in the village sell their organic vegetables, including through brokers. The women in the village also manage the organic cultivation themselves.

    In any case, we are very impressed by how much she has developed personally in recent years.

  • For the third time…

    For the third time…

    ..the leaders of all four villages met to report on the past year and discuss the future.

    From 2026 onwards, the villages will run the cooperative and the model farms independently, with the SWI and RFL team supporting the women one last time.

    .. As a token of appreciation, the team received Magar clothing from the women of Mergangding on the strategy day.

    ..to support the goals in the field of organic vegetable and rice cultivation was the aim of a workshop in Kolkata.

    After the team from Nepal visited several local projects, representatives from seven organisations exchanged ideas and discussed the challenges they face.

    The mothers..

    .. are proud of their daughters who are continuing their education in Kathmandu. Even though many women in the village can hardly imagine what that means exactly, they are genuinely happy for the girls.

    At the same time, we consciously seek dialogue with the parents in order to be able to accompany and support the girls in Kathmandu well, especially since they are often alone there for the first time.

    Smriti is attending 12th grade in Kathmandu.
