Together …
… the women sell their vegetables through the cooperative to so-called ‘vegetable brokers’. This generates income for the women and for the cooperative. This sale is still supported at the beginning, especially in order to negotiate everything with the brokers and stabilise the structures. Many thanks to Fair Styria for their support.
-
Irrigation …
… is very important for higher production, which can then be sold, especially in the dry periods. Many particularly hard-working women in the four villages have received one, have been trained and can now get started. Many thanks to the Schöck Family Foundation for their support.
-
Intensive …
.. the girls in Pokhara are looked after. Both in the children’s home and in the mentoring programme, the girls receive health care, are supported in their school attendance and the older ones receive vocational training to earn an income for themselves. Many thanks to the sponsors who make this support possible.

For the independence …
… of the cooperative, the members of the boards received further intensive training in accounting and management. All four villages sent their managers to Kathmandu. Based on their own documents, they were able to work on how to prepare the books, especially for the audit. For the women, this is very unfamiliar work, which they have already been practising over the past few years with support. By the end of the year, they should be able to do this all by themselves. We wish them the best of luck. Many thanks to the Schöck Family Foundation for supporting the sustainable empowerment of women.

Particularly important …
… are people in Nepal who have a sound education in the field of social work. We are therefore particularly pleased that Asmita from Merangding has decided to study this at a college in Kathmandu. She would like to work in an NGO later on to improve the situation of people in Nepal. She is very concerned about the financial burden on her parents, who also have to make their contribution in addition to the great sponsors. Many thanks to the sponsors who make this study programme possible and also to the parents who – as with all scholarship holders – make their financial and emotional contribution.

Microorganisms …
… are also used in permaculture to improve the results. Some selected farmers have been trained in this and will use it for the first time on their fields and also on the model farm. Using mushrooms, ash, cow dung and other ingredients, a so-called ‘super compost’ is produced. We are already very excited about the results. Many thanks to the Schöck Family Foundation for their fantastic support of the farms.
-
Business Management …
… our scholarship holder Akriti from Merangding is studying in Kathmandu. She has already completed grade 11 and 12 in Kathmandu with very good results and is very motivated to start her own business one day. Both her grandmother and her mother are very proud of her. It is a big step from the village to Kathmandu to go to university. We wish her the best of luck and thank to the company toolbox for sponsoring her entire degree programme.

The girls in Kathmandu…
… work on their reports together and exchange information about their studies. Racedi regularly supports the girls not only in technical matters, but also discusses personal issues in a cosy atmosphere. Many thanks to all the sponsors who make it possible for these girls to study.

A new year …
… has begun on the model farm in Ghunsa. In addition to the already well-rehearsed work on the model farm, the irrigation hoses for the ‘excellent’ farmers were also distributed. Many thanks to @Schöck Family Foundation for the great support of the farms.

Important …
… were the experiences the girls had while helping at the food festival in Kathmandu. Understanding the activities on the farms and appreciating their traditional cuisine are also important for them. They were responsible for registering, selling the vouchers and serving the food. They invited their friends, teachers and acquaintances. They were also proud of their culture. Many thanks to the sponsors who support these girls.
