• With twine …

… you can not only sew, but also remove eyebrows (not completely painless). In our mentoring program in Pokhara some girls are trained as beauticians. They can then open their own small business- and thus stand on their own two feet to support themselves and often their children as well. Carola Gosch has tested it herself, a sign of confidence for the women. https://youtu.be/h3tZAnvkfLc

  • Great results …

… Carola Gosch could see on site in Pokhara. For several years Opportunity Village Nepal has been training young women from vulnerable situations. The goal is to find a job themselves or even to start their own business. Together the results and the challenges were discussed and afterwards some stores were visited. The young women learned a lot and are grateful for the self-employment they achieved. Many thanks to all who support us in this important work.

  • The girls …

… in the children’s home of @Oportunity village Nepal were very happy about the visit of Carola Gosch. It is nice to see how the little girls become young women. They now have confidence in themselves and could communicate with the visitors in English. Many questions were asked and the girls proudly showed their garden.  The greenhouse and thus the supply of vegetables was a great advantage especially in lockdown times. Of course, gifts were also distributed to all. Thereupon, at the end of the visit Carola Gosch awaited a real surprise – pancakes with jam 😊 Many thanks to all the sponsors who open up new opportunities for these…

  • The women in Merangding …

… can hardly wait to apply the knowledge gained from the first training sessions and what they have seen in the other villages at home. The material can be brought as far as the street, where it is divided up and collected by the women. They then walk up to two hours with it to their houses, happy about the important tools and their new task. Many thanks especially to Fair Styria, which thus extends the success of Chyangsar to another village.

  • The work in Kunikhop..

… on the model farm has now begun in a flash. The experience of the other villages is very supportive here. The stations for the preparation of the plants were set up perfectly and the seeds from the project were sown immediately. The women brought wood from home, with which the beds in the greenhouse were lovingly constructed. The joy of everyone is great. This was made possible above all by the support of the Schöck Familienstiftung.

  • Here we go …

… also in Kunikhop. In the new greenhouse everything is explained so that the women can build their own greenhouses. Also for all other activities the material has now been distributed. We are excited about the first season. Many thanks to the Schöck Family Foundation, which supports this project significantly.

  • Learning from each other …

… is the great success in our projects. The women in Ghunsa are proud of their compost, which they have prepared as they learned. Next on the agenda is the production of cabbage seeds. What our expert also learned is the great idea of using straw in the greenhouse to protect the plants from frost. Of course, this is immediately included in the program. All this is made possible by the support of Land Vorarlberg and Chay-ya Austria, as well as Chay-ya Nepal.

  • New Year …

… new happiness 😊. The apple trees in Chyangsar are prepared for the next season. Fertilized, pruned and given a protective coating, we hope for a rich harvest this year. Fruits are especially for the children something very special – a delicious experience and healthy to boot. Many thanks to Fair Styria for the continuous support of the model farm.

  • For the first time …

… the scholarship holders from the villages are on their own in Salleri, the district capital- But they enjoy the life where they only have to take care of themselves and the college. And are proud as one of the first to have reached this step of education. Of course our partners Racedi and Kusang continue to look after them intensively. We all wish them much success in their education. Many thanks to our sponsors who make this possible.

  • Very precisely …

… the steps from the pre-grown plants to the harvest are trained together with the experts. Soon the model farm in Chyangsar will be certified, so that the vegetables can be sold on the market as organic vegetables. In addition to maintaining soil health, these products can also generate a higher yield. Many thanks to Fair Styria, who faithfully accompany us here.
