Of course, there is always fun where many women work together and the children are also present. We are already looking forward to rich yields and new varieties. … our film about the model farm in Ghunsa is ready. Congratulations to the Sagarmatha Milijuli Mahila Cooperative, Social Work Institute and HASERA for the great results. Final…
… also at the training hall in Kunikhop. The electrical installation is finished and the furniture from the local carpenters can also be used. For the women, it is a place to learn, celebrate, relax or just to talk about everyday things. We thank the Schoeck Family Foundation for their support.

Cycles …
… are the basis for sustainability. That is why we are particularly pleased that after the prototype phase, the first composting toilets are now being implemented in Ghunsa. For this to work, a lot of training is needed for the construction and use of the toilets. We think it’s great that the women can then use the compost as fertiliser for growing vegetables. Many thanks to Fair Styria for supporting this project.

Exciting …
… are the first attempts to graft fruit trees. The nursery now grows its own rootstocks that are adapted to the climatic conditions. Special fruit varieties are then grafted onto these. We are keeping our fingers crossed and are already very curious to see whether this will work. The trees could then be distributed in the villages but also sold. Many thanks to all our supporters who make this possible.

… is important and 10 years of Roots for Life is probably a good occasion. .. what the women in Kunikhop have achieved in less than 2 years. The founding of a cooperative was followed by a long search for a suitable area and its purchase. With a lot of effort, the area was prepared, a greenhouse and a training hall were built, and sample fields with new vegetables were planted. The women can be very proud of themselves. … the initiative to support species-appropriate stables and loans for the purchase of animals has developed further. In self-administration of the cooperative, small loans are granted and paid back by the women so that the next ones can receive support. These activities no longer need to be supported externally. Suicide …
… is still the most common cause of death for Nepali women aged 15 to 49. Faced with physical and physical violence, they often have no one they can trust to help them. Now it has hit one of our girls in the village, at the age of 13 she did not know what to do. We are shocked and grieve with the family. In any case, we will intensify our activities and do everything possible to avoid fates like this in the future. to avoid fates like this in the future. We will not forget our girl.

Sustainable …
… means for us to make the women as independent as possible in the future. Thus, the training on seed production in Chyangsar is also an essential part. All findings are also accurately recorded in order to learn from them. More and more new vegetables can be grown and distributed. We are proud of the women who are always ready to learn new things.
