Insects …
… as beneficial insects or pests are also part of the Farmers Field School. The women exchange their experiences, learn interesting facts about them and finally “experimental plants” with the insects in the “net” are also planted for study purposes. We are already very curious to see what can be observed here. Many thanks to the Schöck Family Foundation for making this form of learning possible for the women.

Putting into practice …
… the women are allowed to put everything they learn at the Farmers Field School into practice in their private greenhouses and fields. Our experts accompany them and discuss specific challenges. Twice a month they are on the road to visit other women. The Farmers Field School in the four villages was made possible by the support of the Schöck Family Foundation. Many thanks for this.

Great joy …
… is the excursion to Lumbini for the children from the home in Pokhara. They don’t know holidays in that sense, but religious places have a great meaning for them. Going there together is a great experience and we are happy for them. Many thanks to our sponsors who make this possible.

Farmers field school ..
…is the name of the in-depth programme with which we accompany a selected group of women – here in Chyangsar – throughout the year, in addition to the certification. The aim is to consolidate what has been learnt and to work directly on ongoing challenges. We are proud of the women who give their best to learn a lot. Many thanks to the Schoeck Family Foundation for supporting this programme in all four villages.

What happens next …
… with our girls when they have completed grade 12? Together we discuss, explain and weigh the possibilities. We hope that we will be able to find and finance a good further education for at least some of the girls. Many thanks to all the sponsors who make this possible and we hope that some more will join us.

The wood …
… in Chyangsar also needs care. All wooden parts of the training hall were impregnated with a good oil so that they will last for a long time. We are happy how beautiful it has become and thank our supporters.

Eagerly …
… they train for the next round of certification. First there is theory – men are also starting to take an interest, then everything is practised under the strict supervision of the experts. Of course, there is always fun where many women work together and the children are also present. We are already looking forward to rich yields and new varieties. Super…
… our film about the model farm in Ghunsa is ready. Congratulations to the Sagarmatha Milijuli Mahila Cooperative, Social Work Institute and HASERA for the great results. It was and is a pleasure to work with the women of Ghunsa 🙂 . Many thanks to Chay-Ya Austria for the joint handling and to Land Vorarlberg for the financial support.

Final…
… also at the training hall in Kunikhop. The electrical installation is finished and the furniture from the local carpenters can also be used. For the women, it is a place to learn, celebrate, relax or just to talk about everyday things. We thank the Schoeck Family Foundation for their support.

Cycles …
… are the basis for sustainability. That is why we are particularly pleased that after the prototype phase, the first composting toilets are now being implemented in Ghunsa. For this to work, a lot of training is needed for the construction and use of the toilets. We think it’s great that the women can then use the compost as fertiliser for growing vegetables.
