In many kitchens..
… it will be much warmer in Merangding this winter. As this space is often also the living and sleeping area, everyone is happy to be able to keep the window bars closed when cooking. The new ovens have a chimney pipe and no longer spread the smoke around the room. This also significantly increases safety for the children. Many thanks to Fair Styria, who responded flexibly to our needs.

Vitamins for the winter …
… were given to the children in Chyangsar when the apples from the apple orchard were distributed. At over 80 years old, Lage Maya has looked after the apple trees wonderfully and can be proud of the harvest. Many thanks to all those involved in setting up the apple farm.

Dried vegetables and herbs…
… are prepared for marketing in Chyangsar and Ghunsa. Whether traditionally or in the Solar Dryer, dried goods can be transported more easily and without time pressure. Dried vegetables, also as traditional pickles and tea are 2 good options. Many thanks to Fair Styria for supporting the cooperative on its way to commercialisation.

Permaculture design…
… is what our scholarship holder Ramita learnt during her internship on the Hasera farm and presented in English to the international group. We are very proud of her and thank our sponsors for their support.

Very special results …
… have been achieved by these two women in Ghunsa. Once they grew grapes in the greenhouse and harvested over 40 kg. A great addition to the menu. In the meantime, the cuttings are already being sold. Great results have also been achieved with the compost from the composting toilet. Some of the women are still “reluctant”, but the great harvest will convince them 🙂 Many thanks to Fair Styria for the compost toilets and to the Schöck Family Foundation for supporting the women farmers.
