Almost finished …
… is now also the training hall in Merangding. Unfortunately, the funding already promised by the government for the interior fittings and installations has not come. But with our combined efforts, a solution will be found. Things are going well in the greenhouse and in the fields and the compost toilet is also ready. Many thanks to the Schoeck Family Foundation, whose support ensures the operation of the model farm.

Together at last … … our girls can live in Sallerie from autumn. For the 11th and 12th grade they cannot stay in the villages, the walk to school would simply be too long with more than 4 hours. So far we have only been able to rent individual rooms, now they can live here together and we hope to be able to run the lower 2 floors as a hostel in the longer term. We are currently working intensively on the financing for this. Many thanks to the sponsors who have accompanied the girls until the end of grade 10. We hope to get more support for the higher…

Safer and warm …
… are the new stoves for the women in Merangding. They can cook with them and the smoke goes outside through the flue. For the children, too, there is less danger of reaching into the open fire or falling. The joy is great 🙂 Many thanks to @fair styria for the financial support.

Simply top …
… are our scholarship girls from Chyangsar, Ghunsa, Merangding, Kunikop and Kathmandu. ALL 14 have passed the SEE (the Nepalese central examination after grade 10), 2 of them are top of the school. These 3 girls with excellent results are currently fighting for admission to nurse training in Kathmandu. We keep our fingers crossed for them. Thank you to all the sponsors who believe in our girls. Now that we are moving towards higher education for the first time, we are hoping for more sponsors – please spread the word 🙂 and contact us at office@rootsforlife.info.

Everything…
… from the training sessions for the use of compost toilets is now being put into practice. One is also being built on the model farm to demonstrate everything. The material is distributed and the families will now finalise their compost toilets. We are happy that compost can be produced for the gardens. Many thanks to Fair Styria for supporting this sustainable initiative.
